Andres Godolfredo Cano is a second-generation coffee producer in the town of San Antonio Huista, Huehuetenango. Andres purchased his farm 10 years ago, having previously been a  vegetable farmer, switching crop to pursue his dream of becoming a coffee farmer. His farm is called Buena Vista, translating as a “A good view”. Named after its location, it sits at the highest part of the mountains of San Antonio Huista, some three hours walk from the town itself. During harvest, cherry is pulped the same day at picking. Andres uses a wet fermentation for 36 hours, under close monitoring, before being dried on patios for four days. Andres produces roughly 5000Kg cherry per harvest.

This is one of those coffees perfect for drinking all day long: juicy, sweet and well structured. An abundance of tropical fruit jumps out on the nose; pineapple, mango and papaya all the mix. These follow into the cup. Pineapple bringing a vibrant acidity, mango and papaya bringing a juicy and balancing sweetness. The cup is balanced further as it cools, a chewy toffee element providing both sweetness and body. Black tea finishes the cup, lingering on the tongue.
